THE 2026 ENHANCED GAMES

A new standard for athlete safety and performance.

What is the Enhanced Games?

What is the Enhanced Games?

The Enhanced Games is a global annual sports competition that celebrates human potential. Athletes are permitted to use select, medically supervised performance-enhancing substances (PES) within a transparent and regulated framework.

The inaugural Enhanced Games took place on 24th May 2026 in Las Vegas during Memorial Day Weekend, covering sprint-distance track, sprint-distance swimming, Olympic weightlifting, and Deadlift events.

The Enhanced Games was established to replace secrecy and unsupervised enhancement use with transparency, science, and rigorous medical oversight.

This isn’t just about improving performance. It’s about raising the standard of medical care across elite sport.

Elite sport places extraordinary demands on the body, yet athlete health assessments have not kept up with advancements in systems medicine. Unexplained underperformance, burnout, hormonal disruption, and mental health challenges remain widespread, and personalised biomarker tracking and physiological profiling are rarely used, despite their potential to improve recovery, adaptation, resilience, and overall athlete health. Enhanced was built to close that gap.

Safe enhancement use

Safe enhancement use

When people hear ‘performance-enhancing substances’, they often think of health risks and danger, but it is not the use of these substances that is inherently dangerous, it’s the misuse. Many PES used by athletes are already prescribed safely to millions of people worldwide every year for legitimate medical purposes, for example testosterone injections routinely used for individuals who underproduce this hormone or struggle to maintain muscle mass.

Most of the data behind safety concerns of PES in athletes come from outdated and poorly designed scientific studies, with no biomarker tracking, clinical supervision, accurate dosing, or use of pure substances (Maron, 2009; Torrisi, 2020; Malhotra et al., 2018). With proper medical supervision — including tools to assess heart and organ health, and biomarker tracking — the risk associated with taking substances can be significantly reduced.

Athlete Enhancement

How athletes were enhanced

How athletes were enhanced

Enhancement is not a single substance. It is the full ecosystem of tools and practices that improve human performance – from how an athlete trains to how they recover, fuel, and push their physiology further.

There are many ways to enhance athletic performance. These include coaching, training design and environment, recovery tools, nutrition, wearable technologies, and performance-enhancing substances (PES), among other factors that collectively contribute to overall enhancement.

At Enhanced, we take a holistic approach to performance improvement, considering all domains of enhancement, while focusing our primary innovation on PES. A PES regimen refers to a medically designed and supervised plan for the safe use of performance-enhancing substances over a defined period, typically 6–20 weeks.

Every regimen was individually tailored and continuously monitored. All substances used were FDA-approved and prescribed by a clinician, or administered as part of our IRB-approved research study. Enhanced does not provide or advocate for substances with poor safety profiles, no recognised medical use, or high abuse potential.

The Enhanced Games Research Study

The Enhanced Games Research Study

Enhanced has developed a groundbreaking research study in which all athletes competing in the 2026 Enhanced Games had the opportunity to participate. The purpose of this study is twofold: to administer performance-enhancing substances (PES) under strict medical supervision, and to advance scientific understanding in the field of human performance enhancement.

The primary goals of the study are to evaluate the tolerability and physiological effects of select PES in elite athletes. To support this, we have designed the most comprehensive athlete monitoring and safety protocol in the history of sport.

WHAT IS AN IRB?

WHAT IS AN IRB?

An IRB, or Institutional Review Board, is an independent ethics committee responsible for reviewing and approving research involving human participants. Its primary role is to ensure that studies are conducted ethically, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards, protecting the rights and well-being of all participants.

The Enhanced research study has been approved by an IRB based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This IRB operates in close partnership with the Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi, which oversees clinical trial approvals, licenses IRBs, and enforces ethical and scientific standards. Approval from this board ensures that our study meets the highest levels of participant protection, scientific integrity, and global regulatory compliance.

Once an athlete was found eligible to join the study - based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, initial medical screening, and full informed consent - they completed a comprehensive baseline medical assessment. This included evaluations of their overall health, physiological function, and sport-specific performance. These assessments established each athlete’s individual baseline before any substances were introduced.

The medical team used this data to tailor a PES regimen based on the athlete’s unique physiology, health profiling results, and performance goals. The nine-week PES administration phase then began, during which participants underwent regular medical monitoring.

After the Enhanced Games, athletes repeated their baseline medical assessments to evaluate the effects of PES use on their health and performance. They then entered a five-year follow-up phase, which includes periodic medical evaluations and disclosure of any further PES use. This ensures continued monitoring of each athlete’s health and helps researchers understand long-term effects of PES use over time.

This study generates a high-resolution, medically supervised dataset that addresses a gap in performance science. We have built the infrastructure to keep athletes safe while taking PES, and are tracking and publishing the data to back it up.

athletes to

everyday health.

Elite athletes operate at the edge of human physiology — a uniquely informative environment where subtle physiological signals can be detected with a precision rarely possible in the general population. The insights that emerge flow directly into the science behind better health for everyone.

This study generates the world’s first structured, real-world dataset examining performance enhancement in elite, high-performance environments under continuous medical supervision, advancing understanding of dose-response relationships, safety thresholds, biomarker dynamics, and performance limits.

Beyond elite sport, this research addresses key public-health challenges, from injury prevention and metabolic health to stress resilience and healthy ageing. The science that begins with our athletes is designed to improve outcomes for everyone.
